BD 100 Dinner & Alumni Scholarship Campaign

Remember……… Friday nights watching the Bishop Dunne Falcons play football, wearing the red and blue, singing the Alma Mater, Homecoming game, Prom, Senior Retreat, and those teachers who believed in you. Currently, there are 685 students for the 2008 - 09 school year experiencing those same feelings and dreaming of what college to attend and what they want to do with their lives. Almost 47% of our student body is receiving financial aid, totaling close to $950,000. Your support is urgently needed to help these young people receive a quality college preparatory Catholic education to help them become tomorrow's leaders.

You can help keep the Falcon tradition alive for today's students and generations to come. The Bishop Dunne Alumni Scholarship Campaign is kicking off this season with the Bishop Dunne 100 Dinner. We are thrilled to announce that Sr. Gloria Cain S.S.N.D., the newly appointed Superintendent of the Catholic School System, has agreed to be our Keynote Speaker for the evening, and, our very own Alumnus, Craig Miller of the Dunham and Miller Show on Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket, will be our Master of Ceremonies for the evening. The event will be held at the Hilton Anatole Hotel on October 29, 2009. This year's Voyager Award for distinguished service in promoting academic excellence will be awarded to The Alliance for Catholic Education from the University of Notre Dame. Fr. Timothy Scully C.S.C. will accept the award. Special recognition for all Alumni will be given in the program. Come and mingle with your fellow alums, hear Sr. Gloria's view on Catholic education in Dallas, especially as it pertains to Bishop Dunne, and help us to continue to turn out the future leaders of Dallas by supporting our Alumni Scholarship Campaign.

We are asking each class to raise $2,900.00 to support students in need of financial assistance. Classes and amounts pledged will be posted on the school website at http://www.bdhs.org/ under alumni. Pledges may be made online on the website. Check the website daily and see the class standings grow to $2,900 each.

Don't be left out. Last year, Bishop Dunne Alumni raised over $36,000 for this campaign. This year's goal is to raise $50,000. Updates will be made to the website as pledges are received. Let's work together to continue the excellence and to educate the young people of Dallas.
